Bought a package deal

Sal and I found a 64 Daytona ragtop, and the guy offered us a good package deal on it a another Avanti, so we bought both. The Daytona is a bucket seat, PS, disk brake Powershift car, with factory AM/FM, the Avanti a Powershift with AC and power windows. Pix are as we saw the cars. Another Avanti, a R2 4 speed is coming east to me.

If the 64 came out of the midwest I can give some history on it. A guy in town sold one to someone who drove it to California in the 80's and the color and options match. It was one solid car.

The 64 Convertible list that is in the July 86 turning wheels says it is a Missouri car so it is most likely it. The am/fm was added by John. I will describe as I remember. John spotted this car in the 70's and kept looking to find someone to talk to. It ends up getting towed off the street and sold at auction. He ends up with it. He got it for his wife. John has owned a lot of Studes and use to drive them when they were still being made. He redid this car. It was a solid car for the midwest. he replaced all four fenders and all the trim and chrome with NOS. It was cheaper to replace the fenders than have the dents removed. He laughs about how little it cost them to do that back then. The interior was original and cleaned up real nice. He kept it inside and babied it. His wife got cancer and died at an early age. He kept it for a couple years and ended up selling it.

I remember I wanted the car but did not have the money back then.

I just bought a 64 and when he stopped by he wondered what ever happened to his wifes car. Now I can tell him it is still going. I will give him a call and maybe he still has some paperwork etc from it.

If you want his number to talk to him send me an email offline.
