Someone in the Karel Staple Chapter did a great job adjusting the door latches on my CDR before it went up for sale at the Sacramento IM. They can be shut from one inch open with the little finger. I even show that to people when they get into the car for the first time.
So........ Why the fuch do they do a Barry Bonds immitation when they get out????

Obviously, they must not drive cars as well built...
Oddly enough, I was just fixing the passenger side door latch on my '55 yesterday. I adjusted it a little tight as it has excellent weatherstrip, but a gentle push from 6" will latch it fully. I'm happy.

(have the same issue with people riding in my Porsche...)
both my raggety-assed '37 Packards have doors that shut with a "click" as they latch and they are as found, soon to be molested and saved from purists
