OK, what did I screw up on this one ?
Damn JP I think you out did your self this time that really looks good
It's absolutely incredible. I'm about to get my August '63 titled as a '64 painted and would actually prefer to have that car! I hope you get
24K+Dennis
I've evidently lost my touch as it looks ok to me. It will be interesting to see what the other sleuths on this group come up with...

Wow! Really a nice car! Why does the "Owner Vehicle Identification Data" show it as "63 R2" ?
What's with the two tone interior? That's certainly wrong. Air cleaner looks replated, makes you wonder why. Looks like a clean car though.
You mention a total production run of 4667. I believe you're wrong on that, should be 4650.
JP I sent you a copy of the build sheet. Do you want me to send it again? Oh and you miss spelled everywhere in the more pictures link.
Yes, that site does say R5647 was the last one built so I guess the
4647 would be good to reference. However 5643 was the last assembly line car built and I personally drove R5653 in Chicago back in the early 70's. That one was one of several (7?)prototypes.
That car has got to be one of the most beautiful unmolested Studebaker Avantis out there. Not to mention being an official Milestone Car. I could only dream to be able to afford it. What a show piece. Would bring a considerable more amount of money at the B.J. auction. My opinion only. Others may also agree. I predict probably no less than
27and a high of 39.. e-bay price. B.J. auction , hard to tell but I would guess thousands more if they hyped it up properly. Big bucks abound and that car surely would catch the eye of someone with more money than they know what to do with that would otherwise be spending on some chebby or whatever. I think it would go to the non Studebaker type. High buck bidders would compete more fiercely for that car on live T.V. Especially if that good looking babe was in their face. On another note: John, I think you should just buy it to keep. M.H.O. jimmijimAll black was not an option by that serial #, it was standard. The buckets are probably relacements from an earlier car as the originals should be thick back type not the thin back that are in the car. The door panels look to be elk.
That car should be put up on a hoist and photographed thoroughly. Arrange them into an official handbook for these SDC judges a benchmark to go by for authenticity!!
