Excellent Key Source

Our own Shiva came through in flying colors for me.

Millie's keys were looking a tad wornout and I was down to two ignition keys.

I emailed him asking for blanks, so I could get keys cut locally.

He counseled that he should do the cutting.

Would I Listen?

Hell No - I am dumb as stump.

So he sent me the blanks and sure as God made little green apples the local napa store could not cut a key that works.

So I sent back the blanks and the most twisted of the two keys I had and a tracing of the "good" key.

Now I have 3 more keys that fit perfectly and work great. Thnaks, John.

BTW, the tracing in normal circumstances BY ITSELF isnt too helpful, but with the 'severely'??? (45 degree angle????) twisted key, it helped.. now you dont have to have the shakes to get the car started... which is good.

Well, with the worn keys- ther was no shaking or forcing necessary - it just moved to the on, then start position as nice as could be.

I don't know how they got twisted - obviously they required some excessive force at some time....

Not on my watch.

you were lucky, considering how far off they were.. my hawk took me 3 tries to get it fixed..

I personally just like having a fresh, sharp key for all my cars if for no other reason than in all but one instance, there has been at least one lock missing or that has been replaced with a lock from another vehicle so I was in a situation where I needed to have a lock rekeyed. I'd far rather have a lock rekeyed to a new, fresh key than an old, worn key. and yes I have had "Shiva" cut keys for several cars and he's always been very helpful and reasonably priced (esp. compared to local locksmiths.)

I inherited some locksmithing supplies(non-stude) which I need to get rid of if you would like to have them, Shiva.
