In this months TW they finally mention the Un-Official Omaha Drag Racing that will be taking place during the 42nd SDC International Meet. . . Remember that SDC has nothing to do with this event. . . And the article state that very, very clearly. Now with this out of the way. . . on to the important stuff.
Drag races for the Studebaker drivers is being helded on Friday Sept. 29th at the Mid-America Motorplex in Iowa just about 30 minutes from the Offical Meet Headquarters. The time is 3-5pm and the fee will be $20 to enter your car and $5 spectator cost. If racing, here are a few of the rules:
Batteries and fuel system components must be securely fastened Cars running slicks must have a driveshaft loop. Drivers running 8.5 seconds or faster in the 1/8 mile must wear a Snell 95 or newer helmet Cars running 6.39 or faster must have chassis certification and the driver must have a competition licence.
Remember the SDC has nothing to do with this or the Omaha Chapter. . . you are doing this at your own risk!
With this all said, Mr. Jeff Rice. . . . I'm calling you out. . . I dare you to show up with that Yellow POS (freshly repainted) Studebaker for a show down at the Drags! Grudge Match! You got 2 Months to finish thing up! No Excuses!
