OHV Six

Any one pulling an OHV six from a 64 to make a V8 car? Any one have an OHV six sitting around collecting dust? Any one have an OHV six in the LA area that's in a parts car? I will take a whole car if you don't want to part it out as long as it'd not to far away, unless that is if the car can be driven.

I'm looking for an OHV six engine, or parts for one, but would like a complete running engine. Please don't throw any more of these 64 engines for scrap. I will pick it up if I am close enough.

61 and up would be okay but would prefer a 64.

I am in Sacramento. I go to LA on a semi regular basis, so if someone can get the engine from Oregon to me, I'll take it to LA next time I go. Let me know if thats do-able.

Is it just the 64's you are talking about or all OHV sixes?

I hope that's not the case but it could be. What I have heard about the 64's it would be the style of pistons used that would cause the bore to wear like that but I don't know about the earlier ones. I was hoping to keep it full-flow but I can make do with what ever comes my way.

If it can be done that way I would be grateful but only time will tell.

Thanks,

Wiz,

I just pulled the head off a '63 or '64 full-flow OHV six. It's seized in at least one, maybe two cylinders. It will need to be bored probably .060 over to clean it up. Bottom end may be OK; I have not done a complete teardown. It ran when put away, but was tired.

It's yours if you want it, and if you can arrange transport from Alberta.

Thanks Gordon,

Let me look into shipping to see if it's worth the effort.
