OT Worst song lyrics

My favorite is a song that Paul Newman sang in two different movies.. "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid", and in "Never Give an Inch".. Lyric's were.....

"Don't ever hit your mother with a shovel, 'cause it leaves a dull impression on her mind..."

The one who co-owns those cars with Karl Haas?

The first Long Beach GP was for F500 and I was doing a magazine article on it. I needed some info and called them. "Good Morning, Long Beach GP. How may I help you ?" came a sweet voice.

"I'm Karl Haas and I was.."

An now even sweeter voice interupted with," Yes, Mister Haas, your suite on the Queen Mary is awaiting you."

"This is Karl, spelt with a K, not a C."

"Ya, Wadda you want."

PS Carl got a kick out of this story.

There was also a Karl Haas that had a classical music radio show... does that mean that if I want my (hypothetical) kids to be famous, I should name them Karl Haas? :)

I have two copies of his (Karl Haas) book "Inside Music" I got the second for the nephew of Robert Frost, who lives near the Auto Museum - one of these days I will get it to him.It's amazing who you run into if you're willing to open a conversation with a stranger

As far as your hypothetical son, it make no difference to me if he's named Karl Haas or not because, by the time he starts getting checks mailed to him, I'll be too old to break into his mailbox and steal them!

Now there was a guy who'd know some bad song lyrics, though I can't remember him ever covering that. Other candidates would be the old intermission crew from Texaco Metropolitan Opera, or the BBC's "My Music"...worth tuning in even if you hated opera. On a good day, they'd hate it even worse.

One of the bigegst selling albums of the Boston Pops was something like, "Opera Music For Those Who Hate Opera!"
