Radiator hoses

Before these hit E-Bay,I was just wondering if anyone on here would need them. Their brand new,I bought them from Chuck Collins, and I know He'd probaly refund my cash but I don't want to bother him with it if someone else can use them. The reason I ended up with the wrong hoses was that my 60 Hawk has a 63 engine, and neither of these would fit. They are#1539109-Car 53-60,all except 56J or58L #1550980-car,61-64 V8 Hawk without super charger The price tag on the first one is 19 bucks, the second one 18. Make me an offer. By the way these are the top hoses.

Robert,

if you have a '60 style water neck, you can make a little adapter plate to mount it on top of the late water manifold, then your molded hoses will work. All you need is a thin piece of steel or aluminum shaped to match the earlier water neck and with the four bolt holes drilled in it, and a center hole the same size as the hole in the late water manifold. I had Jeff R. make me one because he had the ability to cut a groove in it so that I could use either thermostat if I had to, but if you have a drill press and a hole saw I would think you could make something functional fairly easily. You'd need to use the earlier style (Chrysler V-8) thermostat. You can *almost* just bolt the early water neck on the late manifold, but the overlap between the two is a little thin, made me nervous about leaks, so I went with an adapter plate on my '55. Alternately, if you have an earlier water manifold you could swap the whole thing onto the engine.

The other option would be to find a later Hawk radiator with a larger upper hose fitting. Or, you could cut a piece of the smaller sized radiator hose to make a "bushing" at the radiator fitting and use the later Hawk hose, assuming the sizes work out. (these options didn't work for me as the '55 radiator is lower and the upper hose fitting is angled differently than in a Hawk, but I don't think that would be a problem for you.)

good luck,

Well, I could use the 1539109 - Chuck Collin's site says it's a lower rad hose 53-60. Should fit my 55 C. Or are you going to get it, Nate?

$15?
