Studebaker Wedding

'Sure has MY vote, Michael! It's not my decision to make, however, but I'd sure agree that the photo and a full geneological report would be in order, especially if you will have it shot professionally.

BTW, tell the photographer the finished size must be 8 X 12 for a properly-proportioned Turning Wheels cover, as was my daughter's photo for April's front cover. (I.e, NOT the more common 8 1/2 X 11 format. The photo inside April's rear cover was originally 8 1/2 X 11; you can tell the difference in proportions if you compare the photo compositions.) Why did I think of that. My father being a former President of his chapter got married last June or was it July... hhmmm, anyways, it was truly a hillbilly wedding!

Brides maids are backed up while on a (excuse my lack of Stude knowledge but)... 46 Stude truck with a flatdeck, then moments later my fathers wife driven in a white Studebaker Lark with big wedding bells up top. Needless to say it was an out door wedding and WOW was it windy!! The WHOLE wedding was about Stude's. The brides hair net thing had little pix of studebakers, her shirt had a huge Studebaker Buffalo Chapter on the back. Same with my father and wore a studebaker cap. Needless to say we as best men/ usher had to wear the SBC shirts too... I don't know what people thought but I looked good! Anywho... skippin the wedding part going to the dinner, the place mats were pictures of all kinds of Studebakers and laminated for the guests to keep. There was more but.... kind of blankin out here. THAT would have been an interesting story in the Turning Wheels. Oh well.. that's my story.

The wedding was this past weekend. I had the bride and groom in the car from the house where they were wed to the country club for the reception. I looked back and said to the groom, "Welcome to the Studebaker family!".

The bride and I discussed her being the great great granddaughter of J.M. Studebaker and the granddaughter of Fred Fish. It was pretty cool! We got the Turning Wheels cover shot of the bride and groom standing by my 54 Commander. The bride and grooms parents rode behind them in my 1963 Daytona Convertible with the top down.

THat should have great granddaughter of Fred Fish, not granddaughter.

I don't want any more wedding photos on the outside of TW. Period! (I had to hide the recent so that Marilyn wouldn't see it and get ideas!)

The last time (and only time) I got married, half the guests were SDC members! (Thank goodness there was no open bar.)
