Water Neck Interchange

I have to do a little re-plumbing and I was wondering what kind(s) of common water necks might adapt to the 2-bolt themostat housing on an R-2 engine?

Thanks,

Standard Chevy, for one, but you have to cut the little groove in the thermostat housing for the thermostat (it is on the water pump on a Chevy so the housing has no groove)

I needed to do a bit of custom replumbing on Debbie's Wagonaire when I added the supercharger to it. They guys at AutoZone were happy to let me go thru the boxes of T-stat housing they had out back and I was able to find exactly what I needed (Ford, I think) for the project.

Hmmm...I just looked, and the recess is in the water manifold on the engine I have. Sounds like a Chevy should bolt right on. We'll see.

Maybe I got it backwards, but somehow I don't think so... maybe someone cut a groove in your water manifold previously to use a Chevy water neck?
