Changing Legacy door indicator repeater

Hi - I need to change these both sides. Got the parts. Supplier says I have to prise off the painted shell to get at the screws that hold the indicator repeater on. Anyone know how to do this without breaking something?

What year / generation? Assuming it's a Gen 4, the repeaters are LED and shouldn't fail. To get to them, you need to remove the mirror glass by pulling at the bottom then hinging it up slightly and then pull it down, disconnect the heater wiring if fitted. You should then be able to see the 2 clips holding the 'scalp cap' onto the mirror housing; press the clips down to release the cap. Martin

Thanks Martin

Managed to do it without taking the mirror glass out. If you pull the mirror so it faces the ground as much as possible you can see the top of the 2 clips that hold the painted shell in place. Needs a torch to see clearly. Push the top of the clip down with a screwdriver and you can pull the shell forward away from the mirror housing. Rest is a piece of cake.

(By the way - if you clip a wing mirror on a recent Legacy you will break the plastic lens over the repeater light.)
