I have an 02 Forester that I recently bought and have a question about the wiper. There is a setting on the wiper stalk which says MIST PULL and shows a little graphic of what I take to be the windshield wiper wash spray - the manual just says that pulling the stalk activates the wiper but makes no references to anything spraying. I am just trying to figure out what the graphic is suppossed to represent if not spraying washer fluid?
Forester Wiper question - MIST?

I believe it refers to misty rain. When it there is not enough rain to have the intermittent wipers on. Pulling the stalk towards you and releasing will activate the wipers once. Pulling it towards you and holding it will activate the wipers until you release it.
This one feature on the wiper stalk quit functioning on my '95 Legacy. The only fix was $200 for a new arm. I found it was not hard to live without it. :-)
BoB For the duration of Swen, my address is inoperative.
