I think this is a pretty dumb idea, but to answer your question, if you have a keyless remote I assume you could simply use that to lock the doors. Not sure whether it would arm the alarm system or not. But you should check to see whether your state has an anti-idling law, intended to cut down on pollution.

I used to take my hounds with me often. If I couldn't park in the shade with the windows open enough that they could stick their noses out, I didn't take them, or made the stop Real quick, and I had hounds that were a desert or montain breed, or a combination, from Afghan istan. I had one of each together, and one panted All Year Long in Pa., except on the coldest days, and the other Only panted 2-3 days in the summer. The mountain type did have a heat stroke at age 12, but he was home when it happened. It was 85^ out, and the AC wasn't on.

Forgot you said a pup. If real young, they say they can't regulate body temp like an adult, so something else to consider.
