Disgusting colour! :-( I'll have the previous blue version instead.

Limited run of 10 yellow BRZ Kiiro models for New Zealand.

Standard in 'tS' STI-tweaked specification, manual-only.

Numbered key boxes, engraved keyrings and specific exterior badge.

It's a Subaru BRZ tS, but it's yellow. Good enough for us.

Not a full STI model, but you get some nice STI bits.

Subaru of New Zealand is back doing the thing that it's done so well in the past: importing small runs of niche models and creating a bit of buzz with a couple of specific flourishes.

The NZ$62,990 BRZ tS Kiiro is arriving in a limited run of 10 this month. It's manual-only, and an STI-tuned (that's what the "tS" bit means) version of the coupe with 18-inch STI wheels, a strut brace, STI gearlever/start button, drilled disc rotors and mesh grille.

Pretty much standard production-model stuff and pretty much the same specification as the other 10 examples imported earlier this year, expect they were WR Blue. This one's yellow: the "Kiira" name is derived from the Japanese kanji script for the colour.

Mesh grille and Brembo brakes are part of the tS package.

And those limited-run flourishes? It wears a special Kiiro exterior badge and each car comes with a numbered presentation key box (1-10) and an engraved key ring, similar to the BRZ tS Tsubasa special edition and the WRX special editions AKA, Tatsu and Todoroki.

Putting that NZ-specific stuff aside, the colour combo (which includes yellow trim highlights in the cabin) is indeed a special run form the factory. The same colourway is being rolled out under various names elsewhere in the world; in the US it's called Sport Yellow Edition, for example.
