On rare occasions I have seen 'fog' come out of a car's A/c-heat vents. But, i have also seen a cloud of refrigerant come outta there too!
let's home you saw the fist and not the latter.

good point. OP? - did it smell 'sweet' like toasted marshmallows or syrup?
