Yesterday I drove from Portland to Boise in my Outback before filling up. I put 15.6 gallons in with the fill up. This got me wondering, I know the Outback has a 17 gallon tank, but how much is actually usable? If I ran it totally empty, how much gas would still be in the tank? Or to ask the question another way, Out of that 17 gallons, how much can I actually use?
Anybody have any knowledge or even good guesses?
