Wont start - only thing that powers are the hazards

I just purchased a 86 Wagon 1.8 L

Upon purchacing I knew the timing belt was bad, did my research and figured for $200 dollars I could not go wrong. So I set out this morning and replaced the Timing belts. Started up and ran like a charm.

Put everything back in place with the exception of the battery being secured(my bad I know) So I took it out for a test. My luck I got a plat tire and it started jerking around, then quickly the ECS light came on and then it just died - dead- nothing. the only thing that worked were the hazards.

So I went to take a look and found that the Neg Battery terminal hit the Alternator ( liitel burn marks on one of the mounting bars, didnt really hit anything major. But now I have no power to anything I have checked all fuses, gone through everything. The computer LED doesnt blink and when I tap the Neg terminal to the post of the battery I get not arc as normally I would.

Any Ideas It sounds like a bad short but I have no idea where to begin.

Did you check for fusible links? If the battery got shorted you probably burned a fusible link, but I do not know location on an '86.
