1996 jeep grand cherokee front end squell?

When I'm driving and I turn left or right i hear a chirpping/squelling noise. Kinda like when you drive on pavement when your still in 4wd but no stress on vehicle. I've jacked up the front end and wiggle both tires and feel no play, see nothing broken or loose.

I replaced the driver side wheel bearing last winter because of very loud humming noise. and I just put new tires all around. it was making this noise with the old tires too. I also replaced one of the sway bar links last winter because off clanging noise. the other link looks fine.

1996 Jeep grand cherokee.

any help????

I would be checking the axle end U or CV joints. You can check them for slop and jack up the front, turn the wheel to the side, then try hand spinning the wheel to feel for grab or noise.

Would dry u-joints be noisy? If so, maybe eyeball all the u-joints for grease ... or lack thereof. I say this because I've had u-joints get noisy all right, but on one side or the other, not both sides at the same time. And dry u-joints might not yet be so worn as to have noticeable slack in them ... yet.
