tip: if you are not aware of the pertinent needs of a vehicle to keep it operating without great / unnecessary expense - you would be ahead to create a maintenance schedule and abide by it.
some might dote on their cars too much, but I'm talking about the things that should be done on a regular schedule as a preventative maintenance thingy.
you'll be glad you did, keep records on your car's repairs / maintenance.
oil change lube job check tire pressure / tread wear / rotate every 6000 miles change gas filter air filter / breather filter / pcv valve brake pad / shoe inspection. fluid levels; master cylinder / power steering / radiator over flow level / r. cap oxygen sensor tension pulleys, drive belt(s) a c condensing coils (wash) wash monthly - wax 2 x's / year motor supports (eyeball) vacuum floor boards keep clean a/c picks up the dirt - it hangs to evaporator fins use motor oil on door / hood hinges / catches./ striker points shoot a wiff of wd-40 in lock / key cylinders. clean battery surface / terminals remove leaves / debris from ventilation intake / exhaust areas. JUST TO NAME A FEW.
The reason I listed (a public service) the above is because some drivers have no idea - what makes an auto - tick,
one lady drove into a station with a hot engine, the attendant raised the hood, checked the oil, and said - lady your car has no oil, she said no oil!!!, are you suppose to put oil in it?
