Seen any info on this GM transmission?

Similiar to 125C transmission, in terms of mounting up?

any tidbits appreciated...

MD2 76-87 TRANSMISSION,3-SPD AUTO (THM180C) Izuzu - used in Chevy Chevettes and other Izuzu's from 76-87. I don't have any personal experience with this trans but I do know the THM125C. I can't imagine any similarities other than one end bolts to the engine and the other to the subframe. You may be able to get a manual on CD from

They mounted it (THM180C) in different ways:

  1. Top Mount
  2. Bottom Mount

But, when I look at a 1993 Chevrolet Corsica, with 2.2L motor, this transmission appeared to be a normal bottom mount style...and may have same config as 125C tranny.

I was thinking of putting an Iron Duke Motor (2.5L) into this Chevrolet Corsica...I think it will work, but I DON"T understand why a vacuum line goes into this transmission?

Btw, on this tranny, what's the mim shop tools needed to do it?

thanks,
