97 camry driveshaft

Mar 11, 2005 1 Replies

Hi everyone,

I'm in the middle of replacing the driveshafts on my 97 camry (4 cyl). The left (driver side) was removed relatively easily but I'm having huge problems with the right side. I removed the bearing lock bolt and the snap ring from the bearing support but I can hardly get it to move. The Haynes manual shows it coming off by hand...I imagine the hand in the picture must give a wicked handshake!!

Has anyone ever run into a problem like this. I'm wondering if the bearing may be seized into the support...I've sprayed lots of penetrating oil, but still no results!!

I had be happy to hear any suggestions...searched through the old news groups but couldn't find anything helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Randy
