Was the clock flashing the correct time or 12:00? When you turned the ignition back on, was the correct time displayed?
If the clock reset, you have a loose connection or fuse somewhere or an aftermarket accessory like a radio, CD player, alarm, remote start, etc. installation is interfering with the clock operation.
If the clock did not reset and displayed the correct time, the car is possessed or was visited by aliens.
Did you have a turn signal on? It may be backing up through the clock. Maybe it simply signaling that there is problem with the clock. ;)
