The door ajar alarm remains on along with a clicking sound. this is on a

Under what conditions does the door ajar alarm come on? Check the switch on the door frame.
Thank you for the advice, I did this and the switch was extended.
So what do you do now?...hold the plunger in with your finger or or just close the door and let it do that little chore?...
