How to remove exhaust pipe from my Sienna?

If you look at the rubber exhaust hangers, you will see a metal finger with a knob attached to the exhaust itself. The finger is pushed through the rubber and the knob on the end of the finger keeps it in place. To remove, spray with silicone lubricant and push the knob and finger through the rubber donut.

Just pull the rubber hanger off. If it is stuck get a can of spray silicone and soak the rubber. It'll come right off.

Another question: The exhaust pipe and the muffler appear to be rigidly connected together. The muffler is suspended by the same kind of rubber hangers and it is bolted to the exhaust pipe coming from the engine. Do you know if I can get away with moving the tail pipe just by removing the exhaust hangers near it or will I have to free up the muffler so it will move with the tail pipe?

The exhaust is one rigid piece all the way to the flex joint at the exhaust manifold. There are probably a couple of hangers near the tail pipe, a couple on the muffler, and maybe a couple further forward. A little silicone should help free up a stuck hanger.
