Just a friendly reminder for those who use DE filters that DE absorbs more than just debris. Every time you dump used DE you lose calcium (for hardness). If you switch to Aqua Perl (twice expensive over DE but use half the amount) it doesn't absorb, it only filters debris. It also contains no silica. It's also excellent when tilled in the garden afterwards.
