What America needs is to vote the Dims in so they can ruin this.....
As Natalie's mentioned before,
formatting link
is your friend.... Cathy
Let me give you a hint. If it don't open like a hot link should, it happens, then you take your mouse and drag the curser across it so it's highlighted, then you go to the edit pulldown menu, and select copy, then click the address bar and go back to edit and select paste, hit return and you are there. I suspect the quotes have bungled the thing up. I use tiny, but sometimes I'm in a hurry.
Hint: too much of a PITA; TinyURL requires just one click for the reader.
I suspect the quotes have bungled the thing
If you're in a hurry & post a long URL that requires others to C&P its pieces into their browser's address bar, then don't expect many people to go through the hassle in order to read the content of a posted link.
Cathy
I like to see the URL before I click on something. Don't want some webpage from a malware site giving me grief later.
A wise man. I don't worry about such with a Mac, but if I have to use one of my PCs on the net I exercise the same caution.
All you need to do to post a long URL is put around the URL like this: . The URL won't be split between lines.
Jeff
Why pretend it means anything to the common man? How does one sector who either becomes filthy rich or filthy poor have any bearing on you or me? Big deal.
Get Linux...
I don't know about you, but I'm not rich, I do however own a 401 and when the market is up my 401 is up and that is music to my ears. The economy at least in my little world is good, for now.
You sound a bit lazy. It opened up for me without copy paste. Sorry for all your trouble.
That's a good habit and why I try to post both.
Command lines? Thanks but no thanks.
Get OSX, best of both worlds.
Apparently that doesn't work for everyone. I always try to install the brackets, yes.
Why would I want to use an operating system that has no user base or available programs for use? Safe hex has served me well. And speaking of great economic booms, how much has Apple or 'Nix contributed to that? Microsoft has been far more dominant and contributory to the world economic system and enabled people to communicate with each other in order to achieve great things.
A common misconception that there are no apps for the Mac. In fact there is tons of applications. For example I have no less than nine web browsers at my disposal, but I only use two of them, Firefox and Safari. They are two best. There are a few instances where I need the XP box for a couple of specialized applications, but for the most part the XP box stays cold. Apple user base is around 3.5 percent, which in numbers is millions and it continues to grow. The Windows OS dominates the business, and when you add up the computersas cash registers it is a sizeable number. The home computer has sure made things different
The Gates foundation is separate from Microsoft. I wish they would send me a few million.
"Is our children learning?"
Happy?
The only trouble I took was to remind you that TinyURL.com is your friend, & reply to your "I'm too busy to use TinyURL" posts. (And then you call me a bit lazy!) IOW, I never did C&P that long URL & read whatever the link contained.
