Patronize Boeing, and you're a member of the Military/Industrial conspiracy.

Patronize a foreign competitor, and you're exporting jobs.

Dems have it easy. It's a good thing for Pelosi that stupidity isn't painful. Couple the above story with her also wanting to tax investment profits at 100%, and you can see with what you're dealing.

No matter how you slice it or who benefits and who's hurt by the decision, this whole aerial tanker deal stinks on ice. On a much smaller note, I have to wonder why Beretta was given the contract for sidearms when we have perfectly good US gun manufacturers. Maybe soon we'll find out that the contract for building postal trucks and military vehicles has gone to BMW or Fiat?

Very true.

Better yet, why we kowtowed to the 9mm camp. Just because it's a NATO round, doesn't mean we had to handicap *our* military with that caliber.

A 9mm may expand, but a .45 will never shrink. The 1911 needed no replacement.

Mack old boy, which one provides the best equipment for the military, that's the question you have to ask. It's not about money, but it is about the best for the dollar spent. That is smart procurement.

Actually, I think military vehicles have already been outsourced to the German company Diamler-Chrysler before the breakup. Under an agreement, countries that participate in EADS

I don't see how this is McCain's fault. He uncovered fraud. That's good work.

Agreed, but in terms of the military, for example, why would the pentagon buy from outside the US when US manufacturers are capable of making anything the military might want at any given time. And at a comparable price. I see too many instances of our own manufacturing capabilities being dissed in favor of something made in Europe, or elsewhere. This is doing nothing for the US mfrs who stand ready to meet the needs of the public and private sectors. If the government were buying beer, would they naturally gravitate toward buying from Lowenbrau or Heineken or Foster's Lager when we do have some fairly good brewers in this country? So why go to Beretta for a 9mm sidearm ? If you respond "for increased magazine capacity", well, I'm sure Colt or Ruger wouldn't have an awful lot of trouble modifying their pistols to accept more ammo, would you think?

Nah, it's all about the "New World Order". You know, UN military rounds in metric, 9mm vs. .45 cal. It's what's used by the UN troops and is more readily available around the world. Coming to "a town near you". LOL L.O.L. (Lobotomize Our Liberals)
