RAV4 - what does "leather trimmed" mean?

The 2007 RAV4 brochure says you have an option of getting leather TRIMMED seats and this is also required for the heated seat option.

So what are leather trimmed seats, in comparison to "real" leather seats? What are they like? Are they similar to real leather and do they wear out faster? (And is the "leather" in my 2002 Highlander "real" leather?)

"Leather trimmed" means that only the actual seating surface is leather. The seat back, sides, and front are made of other material, as are the other surfaces in the interior. This is true in all Toyotas and in most cars.
