Toyota is leader in the manufactorer's standngs for NASCAR cup

Last year, they did not win a race. This year, they won 1/3 of the races so far, and have 73 points.

It shows the quality of the teams running Toyota-branded cars in NASCAR. Of course, it has nothing to do with the cars that Toyota sells to common people, like you and me.

Then why bring it up?

Because they are Toyotas, at least in name. And it shows the effort that Toyota is going to make inroads in American culture. And, it is another area where Toyota is doing better than the Michigan 3.

Yeah, probably because they switched to Bosch spark plugs. No Denso crap here.

Concord, NC, May 16, 2008 =97 Californian A.J. Allmendinger scored his first NASCAR Sprint Cup victory Friday night at Lowe's Motor Speedway taking the Sprint Cup Showdown event. Driving a Bosch spark plug- equipped Toyota Camry, Allmendinger won the 40-lap race by .154 of a second over Sam Hornish, Jr., who drove a Penske Racing Dodge outfitted with Bosch plugs and a Bosch alternator. Are there Summer, Fall and Winter Cup races too?

However, does this have anything to do with the Toyotas in the Cup race?

Driving a roomy sedan around a track is not auto racing because there are people who cruise around neighborhoods for yard sales who drive faster than stock cars.
