2002 Camry seat belt bolt missing

Sep 25, 2007 1 Replies

Bought new from Toyota dealer, 2002 Camry. Dealer serviced. Out of warranty now. Noticed recently seat belt for drivers side where fastens near console side, not door side, has the bolt that holds it down missing. There is a small wire that keeps the latch in place. Dealer says this isn't covered by warranty.

Anyone see anything like this before, or is this just an odd goof?

I recall reading some TSBs about Toyota's seats coming loose. But with Toyota, if you are out of warranty, generally you are SOL.

But talk to the dealer's service manager and see maybe with a paid oil change maybe they'll be willing to bolt it up for you. ;-) Or you can just buy the bolt for a few dollars.
