2007 Camry CD/MP3 Player

Does anybody else have problems with the disc player's reading of MP3 discs? This is a problem that began a couple of years ago, but has gotten worse over time. The other day I tried a dozen times to get the CD player to read an MP3 disc it had been reading fine since it had been burned a couple of weeks earlier. I took it out to put another disc in, and I got an ERROR 1 message. I then re-inserted the disk that it had just been playing and I got ERROR 1 again and it hasn't read an MP3 disc since then.

It'll read regular audio discs with a skip every now and then. Though I haven't done it in a while, I tried using one of those CD lens cleaners when it began having problems before but it didn't seem to help.

Has anybody else had this problem? How did you fix it?

I hope this thing isn't going out. Given the price charged for these stock radios, they should have hard drives with timers so they can kick on and record our favorite radio shows for the next time we're in the car. I find it easier to focus on radio shows while I'm in the car. If I'm in the house, I tend to get more distracted and can't really keep track of what's being discussed.

Well, I'm glad everyone else in this group has working MP3 players in their Camry vehicles. I have one, and my friend has one, and both of ours have trouble reading MP3 discs. It must be an omen.
