Accessing this newsgroup not from aol...Possible?

Apr 09, 2004 4 Replies

Hey there.

I'm moving on from aol and am wondering if anyone knows how to access this newsgroup from the internet and if it is even possible. This newgroup is very informative and I'd hate to loose it. Might even consider keeping aol just for it. Thanks for any info.

You should be able to access this newsgroup:

1) Through your new ISP and a newsreader program, such as Outlook Express (preferred method). Contact your ISP for more info on setting up a newsreader and accessing the news servers. 2)

Use the "Groups" tab on the search menu. Accessing newsgroups through a web page is not optimal, though using the Google page is best for searching messages back to the 1980s.

Good luck.

Type in: ".alt.autos.toyota.camry"

As another poster as detailed, your new ISP will probably provide a copy of Internet Explorer and a copy of Outlook Express .... which is an email and newsgroup 'reader' program.

You'll find it is really quite simple. As suggested, bookmark or add the page to "favorites" once you locate it.
