Engine check light on

Nov 11, 2004 3 Replies

I have a 96 toyota camry with a 130k mileage. suddenly yesterday, the engine check light tunrned on on the dashboard. I'm kind of worried, can it be a minor sensor glitch? There is nothing wrong with the car, it's still running smoothly as before, no noise, nothing. Can you guys help me out!! what should I do? Thanks.

Could be as simple as a loose gas cap. Did you just fill it up? Tighten the cap light will go out in a day or less. If not no need to panic. You could drive it back to Japan with the check engine light on. Some auto parts chains will read the code for free..let us know what happens.

thanks for your quick reply. I already tightened the gas cap. Let's see how it works. I'm a little bit relieved that there is no need to panic. Does AutoZone read the error code. Thanks once again.

take it to autozone and they will tell u what is wrong.

read some of the post on this group to knonw what are some of the regular problems.
