I have just been reading in the Haynes Manual on my 1995 2.2lts 4 Cyl.
It stated that the Crank to Alternator and Ac vee belt and crank to Power steering Belt should be changed every 6000miles.
Its not some thing I have thought about and looking back in my service history from local Toyota Dealer I cant see they have ever been changed.
Is 6000 correct I cant see much about it in owners manual.?

Im sure it says Check every 6000, that is what older Haynes says But at 72000 check it good,hoses to
They're usually changed when the timing belt is replaced, since they have to come off anyway for access. You're only paying for the parts, so it is inexpensive insurance to also get new accessory belts. Good idea to check tension occasionally though. The belt tension gauge illustrated is best. The A/C belt runs at a fairly high tension (around 120 lbs.) so using the belt tension gauge is better than measuring deflection.
Are you sure it says replace, and not just 'check for serviceability?
