HELP- Can't find FRONT END RATTLE in 97 !!!!

Jan 03, 2004 3 Replies

Help, I have a 97 camry SE. with 49k miles.Car has always been in Nevada. Any kind of rough road or going up a drive I get a rattle seems like it is coming from the right front. Sounds almost as if a shock has come loose or something. No suspension parts are loose, tie rods etc. tight. No banging exhaust or brake cables. Anybody suggest something else I can check?

Thanks, Mike

I am sure you have checked the glove compartment and engine compartment area, right?

Otherwise you probably have the worn out strut tower problem the rest of us have. My 94 makes rattling noises and my 97 makes squeeking noises.

There is a Toyota bulletin regarding this very problem, solved with an improved replacement strut mount.
