just bought a camry from B.C

Just bought a 1990 camry SE anniverary ED. Came from British Columbia and in outstanding condition. The car has 270,000kms....4 cyl motor. Has received meticulous maintenence and engine was overhauled at 100,000 (something to do w/ shaft). Here's my questions How many kms should I expect on the motor if well maintained? While idling the car will slightly rev high and low.....say 1000rpms to

600rpms....what causes this? How do I resolve this?

Thanks guys

My 1989 Camry 2 Liter 4 cyl automatic just passed 380,000 km - and that is in (Brrr) Winnipeg ... (but it is a DRY COLD)!

As long as you don't have teenagers driving it ... or driving into it ... I'd venture you will get quite a few years from it.

Just a guess on the RPM change ... It could be a device coming on (like the headlights or engine cooling fans) that puts a load on the alternator. The computer or whatever will adjust the idle speed to compensate.

Wanna buy an '89 with 500,000 on it in ..say... 5 years?
