Power Steering?

2000 Solara SE 63K. When I first start the car and turn the wheel all the way to the right or left there is a high-pitched screeching sound. Never happens any other time. Is my power steering fluid low? Just changed the drive belts. Dealer recommended power steering flush.

Yup could be, but I always advise against turning the wheels to full lock. You also don't mention, is the car moving at all while you do this. You're placing a deal of pressure on the system if you are not at least rolling a little bit when you turn the wheel. I have NEVER had trouble with any PS components, and I have had over 200,000 miles on three Toys now! Also, I have never flushed the PS systems on these cars!
