4runner oil leak

Feb 08, 2007 3 Replies

Hi there, I have an 1990 Toyota 4runner leaking engine oil from the front of the engine. The strange thing is that it only happens when I start the truck on cold mornings (-20 and below). Once the engine warms up there is no leak. Any ideas.

You didn't specify V6 or 4banger. I've had several Toyota truck leak at the front of the engine. All were same cause. Pull the front pully and replace the oil seal that fits around it. May want to check for this.

If this is not the source, give us some more details.

Thanks for the info-it is a V6. It is so cold right now (-38) that I can't check anything. It is somewhat less now than before. Will report back later.
