86 4 runner starting problem

Aug 17, 2004 2 Replies

I have 86 runner moved from california to texas where the weather is very humid here.when summer rolls around i have a hard time starting it once it starts i have no trouble after that day starting it up .When i leave it park overnight in the gargage same thing over again and in the winter i have no problem with it starting. Any help would be helpful. Only happens in this hot state ..thank you

What are the symptoms of the starting problem? Does the starter turn over or not? Does it crank and crank w/o starting? Are you getting fuel and spark while its cranking or not? What type of engine (22R or

22RE)?
22re..cranks over gets gas and spark ..after cranking 3 to 4 times is wants to start then i restart again and might start then and maybe not. it takes 3 to 4 times turning the ignition on and off restarting but kinda stalls then i give it gas and it's running fine then. Funny it only started this as soon as hot weather kicks in here in texas ,starts fine all winter. such a weird problem ..thanks for replying..any ideas.have replace the fuel pump didn't help
