I have a '99 Tacoma 4 cyl. The engine light came on and I have to get this vehicle smogged before the end of this month. I read a post that stated that removing the EFI fuse and then replacing it resets the light. I did this and it worked with only a rough idle at first. Now I am wondering if the onboard computer will signal the test machine that power had been removed from it or interuppted and make the test fail. The truck has been driven about 30 miles since the fuse was pulled and the idle has evened out and the light is still out. What do I risk by taking it to the smog station and gambling this will pass? Any suggestions/information would be appreciated. Thanks.
