Clutch replacement on a '98 Tacoma 4WD

I hope this is the correct group to ask this question. I have a '98 Tacoma, and I've noticed some squealing noises coming from under the truck, and occasionally the gear slips while accelerating. I'm pretty sure it's the clutch. I've got 140k on it, and I can't claim that I've been too gentle with it.

Does anyone have a ballpark idea of how much I should pay to have the clutch replaced in this truck? I live in Nashua, NH so if anyone knows a shop around here that can be trusted, any input is appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

Mike,

Around these parts it's about $900. Due to a non-removable transmission cross member the SM recommends pulling the engine to do the job.

Normally I do it myself but due to time restrictions and as I'm getting older I just don't look forward to those jobs... I paid a little over $500 in labor and supplied all parts. I found a good close-out deal on the TRD clutch package - came with the disc, pressure plare, throwout and pilot bears. FOr that $500 he resurfaced the flywheel too.
