Crankshaft

How do you get the whole engine to stop moving when getting the crankshaft pulley nut off when it is stripped down to the short block and is out of the truck?

they sell or rent handles that grip onto flywheel teeth, but not sure where your engine is at....

Take the oilpan off if you have not already and find a piece of wood (a clean 4x4 chunk will usually work). Turn the engine such that you can wedge this piece of wood in the bottom-end and stop it from turning.
