trouble pulling front grill work off 93 4wd Pickup

I need to pull the front grill work off my truck and I'm stuck. I pulled off the two side (running) lights and have managed to unclip the entire top of the grill work, but I can't seem to get the lower portion disconnected. I can see 4 clips (maybe 3, it's been a couple of hours since I looked at it) on the lower portion and I think I've released them, but the grill seems firmly attached lower area. Is there some vital screw or bolt that I'm not seeing? I can't find anything on it in the 93 manual. It seems odd to me that the upper clips released pretty easily and the lower ones wouldn't. Could be I'm just not getting them released. Do I need to drop the bumper?

BTW, when I say I've unclipped the push in clips (what are they called?), I really mean that they disintegrated. 330K miles and 13 years, I sure got my moneys worth out of them.

thanks for any help, jim

You inspired me with the "brighter flashlight". Sure enough, I missed the clips that are directly below the headlights. I didn't find any screws, but I did need to loosen up the bumper - just the four 14mm bolts, two each side - and that gave me the clearance to pull the bottom portion of the grill out and up. Wouldn't go without doing that. All I got to do now is replace the broken clips. I lost one side of a clip holder, but I figure I'll saw the other off flush and just use a bolt/nut with a couple of large washers to hold that part in place, if I even bother to do that.

thanks for the help!
