I`ve have come into the ownership of a 1986 Nigerian beetle (built in Brazil, but assembled in Nigeria) The only problem is that when the car was imported to the UK in 1991, some shipping documents were lost and the car was registered on a `Q` plate instead of an age related `C` plate. Does any anyone know how i go about getting an age related certificate so i can prove to the DVLA when it was built!

You need to get the chassis number verified. Mostly this is done to prove its made before Jan 1973, but guess the same system would apply. Not sure of the system, but will look around. Probably in the FAQs?
