Someone at work gave me a very big box of vintage VW Bug screws,nuts bolts etc. All had been seperated , engine tin screws, 10mm rear deck lid bolts, the best part was the bag of those shoulder bolts for the rear seat back pivot points. My car was missing them. I found that there are several sizes and located two to fit the holes in my seat. After a bit of wrestelling I got both in, only to discover the seat will not pivot back into the upright position! Apparently the PO just used a seat back he had laying about. My question is then, how do I tell which one I have and find one that will work on my car, I have a 66.
