Just thought I would check in after the Holidays and not just lurk. I have been doing zip to the bug as of late and seem to have fallen in the ditch for motivation. The weather has been weather and I have had other projects to fill my time. Got sucked into putting ceramic tile in our living room and that has been eating my time up. About 400 square feet and have been spending all my spare time there or in the wood shop making some spending money for the flooring.
I did air the flat up on the bug and drove it around with the kids over the weekend. My Brother-in-law came by in his truck and was talking about how muddy a place in the woods behind the house was. Sounded like fun so off we go in the bug to get a new coat of mud. Now I have my two kids and his two kids in the bug and a whole bunch of mud in front of me. He would not attempt another pass through the mud and said that I would get stuck if I tried..........did I wimp out and not try......... nope, just put it in first, floored the gas and dumped the clutch!!!! 50 yards later, and mostly up a slight incline, we burst into the pasture on the other side of the muck. Kids are all bursting with laughter and "Do it agains"!!!! Man, I am going to have to build a mud buggy. My bug handles this stuff great but, it sure does get dirty. That is OK, as the mud protects the paint from the sun. LOL!!!
I was told again that I could not get back through the mud and back to the house. We tore it up pretty good the first pass, but I just pointed the bug across and kept it moving again and we emerged on the other side with even more mud on board and even bigger grins all around.
Hope everyone had a good year last year and here is to an even better 04!!!
