Dual Carb Manifold Nuts (driving me nuts)

What's everyone's method of getting those dual carb manifolds bolted into place. As folks with dual carbs know, reaching those front manifold bolts (at the "rear" of the engine bay) can be an extremely frustrating venture. I used to run 40 Weber DCNF's which are nice compact carbs with manifolds (almost perpendicular piping) that allow relatively easy access by a socket wrench to reach the manifold bolts. But now, I have a pair of Dellorto DRLA's that are not only bigger carbs, but whose manifold piping angles out sideways to impede access by a socket wrench. These are Berg non-offset style manifolds BTW.

Please share your trade secrets in getting your dual carbs installed. My available tools are a 1/4" drive socket wrench with extenders and a swivel joint. I even got 11mm nuts for the manifolds but it is still tight. Is it OK to do some clearancing of the manifold itself with a Dremel? How does one get the nut started onto the bolt so you can start using your socket to tighten it in?

Ok, thanks everyone for your wisdom!
