how hard is it going to be to make a 90.5*78 engine with a 110 cam this is my first build and my engine i have now is stock so i have to machine the case how hard is that and how reiable would this engine be ? thanks vwthingcer

It's very ionvolved and the small details would make it or break it...
My first impression is that I would use a hotter cam. The large displacement would allow that without sacrificing low end power.

Damnit Jim. Thanks for raining on my parade! That site reminded me of when I finally saved up $700 to by a 73 Chevy Nova for my first car. Nobody told me that you couldn't buy a $700 car with $700. Stupid insurance and registration!
Actually, that's a very valuable gathering of information. I am in a similar situation, as I have an old 1500 in a 71 Bug sitting in my garage right now. I have been considering using it as a learning tool that I could occasionally drive, but I have been struggling trying to commit to it. Shipping to Juneau on some of this stuff is pretty spendy, and none of these parts were made of lightweight material.
