I'm trying to replace my front brakes from drums to discs on my 66 and have a couple of questions. I noticed that the tie rod end tapers seem a little thinner and they don't press like they should into the new spindles. Do I need a later model tie rod ends? I'm also not sure if I need to replace the master cylinder. I'm getting conflicting reports with respect to that. Anybody know the answer?

Yes.
You don't "need" one, but you should definitely get one. I didn't even try with a single circuit master when I did mine.

if you have a 68' and older car, the new spindles use the 69' and newer tie rod ends, which are bigger. If this is the case, you need 2 69' and newer outer tie rod ends to complete the conversion

When i did the conversion on my wife's 68 i changed the piece on the inside so that both ends take the same size (bigger) tie rods, I think i paid $10.00 at a junk yard for the piece. David
