Good fix and results_BUG_OIL Flowing_

My 69 ragtop Bug, schwin had a long standing leak, that has recently been addressed. the symptom of an oil drip (drops) is common. ON hot days after a time at slow idle the oil pressure light can be dimly lit, indicating a slow loss of oil pressure to the sensor, a tap on the gas and the light goes out.

Well I always had a few oil drops, but when I would look under the hood, I could see oil flowing, looked like it leaked out and.. leaked into the engine. was really a slow and streaky thin stream of heated oil blowing out tofu the gasket between the oil cooler and the head.

What a difference, no drips now, and a less sound in general. still plenty of fweem and grumb;e, I am happy to report.

Talk about Deja vue. I had a leak blowing out from under the tin on the left side below the carb. I just dropped my first engine Friday and besides still finding it hard to believe that only those 4 small bolts hold the whole engine in I found my leak was a loose oil cooler. I bought new seals from the bughouse in Virginia beach and today is the big day for putting the engine back together. Thank goodness I took the engine apart because it needed a major cleanup. Can anyone tell me what kind of pressure that oil cooler has going through it? Just a curiosity question. Doug
